| Allow me to introduce
our world. Westair Airlines is a Virtual Airline
for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 to simulate the day to day operations
of a real airline. Westair Airlines is a privately owned non-profit
virtual aviation organization and is not related to any existing
real world airline. Our main objective is to give people interested
in aviation, and who enjoy flight simulation, a unique perspective
on the daily operations of a real world airline transport pilot.
With reality as our driving force behind Westair Virtual Airlines
we continuously keep improving our Virtual Aviation to better the
experience for our virtual pilots by providing our virtual pilots
with quality service and a quality up-to-date fleet for use with
the Microsoft Flight Simulator series of flight simulators.
What Westair Airlines is About.
Westair Airlines is a private non profit organisation which began
operations in Australia in 2004 by a group of enthusiastic flight
simmers. Westair Airlines is open to any virtual pilot throughout
the world and is a community driven organization, where by people
who have an interest in flight simulation and aviation are able
to simulate the career of a real world virtual airline pilot. You
will be able to fly routes from any of our Hubs. Currently the major
Hub is in Australia but the management have started on the European,
Asian, and American Hubs. Which will soon link the whole of Westair
Airlines with the rest of the world.
What do I need to become a member of Westair?
Westair does not have much criteria to be a pilot and fly for us.
However you must own a legal copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator
2004 as at present our Fleet is only compatible with FS2004. But
the main criteria you need is the passion to fly. For more information
on the running of Westair please read the Rules located in the main
Navigation Bar within the site.
What does Westair Offer to its pilots?
Westair is an up and growing virtual airline, where pilots can
climb the Westair corporate ladder from a Cat 1 Pilot flying turbo,
multi and single engined prop aircraft to a cat 5 pilot flying the
Boeing 747, Airbus A340 and soon to be released Airbus A380. All
your hours are logged as you file your pireps into a database and
kept on record through your career with us.
What if i have never flown before?
If you are new to flying a simulator, don't be put off by all the
mumbo jumbo. Flight simming is not just about flying around your
home, taking off and landing. There are others things such as instrument
flying for bad weather and IFR flights as well as VOR approaches
and NDB approaches Feel free to contact Jamie and he will hook you
up on the vatsim network and take you through all the things you
wish to learn.
What is online flying?
For those of you who are new to flight simming. Allow me to introduce
to a whole new environment which will enhance your experience. Some
time back a group of individuals started up Vatsim and Vatpac. These
two organisations work together to give you a whole new experience.
Online flying is where you hook up to a server and fly together
with real people controlling the airspace. These people are put
through a rigourous training program to make this experience as
real as it gets. whether you just want to fly IFR (Instrument Flight
Rules) or VFR (Visual Flight Rules) there should be a controller
waiting for you throughout the day and night. You will need to be
a member of Vatsim to fly online so feel free to visit there website.
Should you require training on feel free to contact me.
